The community in Nyangaita and kamanau need to have a rain water “harvesting unit” installed as they live in a desert country and have to dig deep boreholes for water. For now, they only have to contend with the few seasonal rivers and countable boreholes. One of the largest needs for the Pokot is access to clean water. Every day, Pokot women and children walk along distance and spend hours every day carrying dirty water to their homes. WMK is committed to providing clean water access services because we understand the need. Through the drilling of boreholes, and installation of water tanks, the people will suddenly feel hope, children will also be able to go to school, mothers can spend more time with their families and men will be able to plan for their future.
